A recessed mounting backplate combines a broad pocket, rounded perimeter, integrated bosses, keyhole slots and threaded posts that must stay coordinated for prototype fit and repeat supply.

Pocket depth and wall thickness

A broad shallow pocket removes a large amount of material from one face. The remaining wall has to stay thick enough to carry the mounting load, and thin enough to keep weight down. That balance is agreed before cutting.

Keyhole slots need a reference

A keyhole slot only works if its position, width and counterbore relate to the same datum as the posts it locks onto. Machining slots and posts in one setup removes the tolerance stack between them.

Threaded posts

Thread depth in a machined post is limited by the wall behind it. Threading too deep breaks into the pocket, so depth is specified rather than left to the operator.

Inspection for repeat supply

For repeat orders, the same few dimensions are checked every batch so that a change in the process shows up early.

  • Pocket depth and floor flatness
  • Keyhole slot width and position
  • Thread depth and post height
  • Overall flatness after pocketing
